3. Gillette 7 o'clock black super platinum
4. Feather
5. Shark super stainless

If you mean Asta SP blades,#7, I would try them first. The only others I have tried besides the Feathers is the Gillette Silver Blues. They have become a preferred blade for me. By all means leave the Feathers till last. They are good blades, very sharp and can be a bit harsh.

Hi Greg
The Astra Stainless are one of my 2 go-to blades (the others are Personna's, not on your list) so I'd recommend them. That said I've had very good results with Gilette siver/blue and Sharks before, although I've found Sharks can be a little inconsistent. If you're new to DE shaving then definitely get used to the razor before trying the Feathers. I do like Feather blades, but usually to tackle 4+ days growth or in a mild razor. Not tried the other blades.
If I were you I'd give one of each blade a try and replace it with one a different brand after 3 or 4 shaves. There may be some you like in there and some you just don't get on with, but it's all down to personal preference at the end of the day.

I've only used the Feathers and the Silver Blues out of that assortment, but I've only read good things about all of those. Not a bad one in the batch from what I've heard. If you wait until the end to use the Feathers you're saving the best for last. IMHO .........

I've only used 2, 4 & 7 from your selection and in order of preference from my perspective with 1st being the sharpest & smoothest, it would be 4, 2 & 7.
My personal goto blade is however the Polsilver Super Iridium followed by the Feather.Tony

In my opinion you may just as well cut to the chase and use the best, the feathers.

That is basically what I did. When I stopped buying Gillette 'Good News' disposables, and picked up a few vintage DEs a friend, JB Horen told me most guys thought Feathers are the best. I ordered a gang of 'em. I did pick up other blades along the way, but the Feather is the best one I've run across. The only other one that was equal was the Gillette Swede, and they don't make those anymore. AFAIK.

My experience with Astras and Feathers are great. Gillette Black super platinum and Shark have been my worst experiences. After you try them, if you like them, I'll mail you what I have.

As all the other gents said, save the Feathers for last. I've been de and straight shaving for years, and I still can't use them. Something in their metallurgy irritates the heck out of my skin. And on top of that, they are sharp as hell.

I started with Astra. They're a good solid blade. Then switched to Feathers and haven't looked back. If you're ok with a little blood, nothing wrong with starting with Feathers. Blood's a good motivator to make you learn faster.
