Indeed. I don't know why, but body shaving was very uncommon and unmanly to my generation. Maybe porn industry have some influence on that. Whooly girls and Ron Jeremy weren't freaks back then. One of my first girlfriends is a cute and funny french chick who didn't shave her armpits and I, really, didn't give a s*** about it.

Thanked: 44You're not an armpit man then? If we can't have a laugh about this subject then there's something wrong with the system. Pineapples are a step too far, but a well sharpened banana should be an acceptable addition to any pube-shaving man's accoutrements. Go on delete it, but you know its funny.

Here I go again, probably being too honest for my own good.
I use my Braun hair cutter electric thing for the hair under the belly button - set it at about .5 and use a straight to shave the rest. All of it.
I'll give the same recommendation that I gave for shaving women down there - use more of a wedge grind, and preferably not a square tip. I've experimented with all, cause I've been doing it for years, and my favourite is a stubtail - the steel is softer. With women a larger blade is better because there's so much soap to remove, but for us a 5/8 is perfectly good.
Which hone? That's the really interesting part. As Bobski recently pointed out, a coti is very forgiving and I have never nicked myself after finishing on one.
And if you think your face enjoys an Escher, you are about to realise the true wonders of that stone.
Is it difficult or scary? It's exactly the same as shaving you face. Stretch before you shave and there's no problems. None at all. I do it in the shower, it takes about 5 minutes.
Is it weird? Do you want hair there or not? Yes, the first time I did it I felt like a pervert, a weirdo, and that I would go to hell forever, so I stopped until one day I got a girlfriend who was so beautifully manicured down there I quickly got the scissors and started trimming. And like most of us, always looking for something to shave, it didn't take long before the straights made it down there. Now I would never go back to having hair there.
How about a DE? I don't know, I've never tried. I suspect you'd be more likely to cut yourself with one of those due to the bulkiness, and the edge may cause irritation, but then again, it may be fine.
Soap? Funnily enough, just normal hand soap seems to work great. MWF works a treat, but lathering up with a brush is pushing it even for me. I'd be scared to use a cream - it's good to be able to see what you're doing, and a cream would cover everything up.Last edited by Frankenstein; 03-08-2016 at 05:20 PM.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

Thanked: 2I will trim the hair down there pretty closely with a pair of scissors, but have never tried for a smooth shave in that area ... I've heard that it can get insanely itchy when pubic hair starts to grow back, and I have no urge to put myself through that.

I'm just too whooly to shave anything below my neck. I'd resemble a dog show standard poodle.
This would be scary.

I tried it once and only once, used a Gillette Tech OC, shaved well enough, only one nick on the testies. the worst part was the next few days with grow back, BIG TIME ITCH and discomfort. Never ever again.
