Thanked: 3226My favourite SE blade is the Personna Gem stainless steel PTFE coated blades. They are smooth, sharp and don't rust like the carbon steel ones do.

For me the Ted Pella blades were bad to the bone. You have to buy a bunch but they are way better than the Gem factory blades available in the pharmacy. IIRC I bought the stainless. https://www.tedpella.com/dissect_html/blades.htm
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Try these from Connaught Shaving in the UK . You can probably buy them in the US but we have to get them from overseas as no-one sells SE blades in Australia anymore.

I second Connaught shaving. I have enough blades to last a lifetime, especially since I use a straight razor 95% percent of the time. When all I have is 5 minutes , the SE is my tool of choice.
I can get a good 10 shaves out of each blade.Last edited by Badgister; 08-19-2016 at 01:07 PM.

For some unknown reason, The Original Safety Too has disappeared. Which is a massive loss. It was the best forum for all things SE razors.
Either way, you are probably looking for this: A small guide to single edge blades | TheShaveDen
In a nutshell, you can choose between stainless and immediately rusting blades. The latter variety has some fans, but I have never got a decent shave out of them. The ones you should probably look for go under a variety of names, eg "Ted Pella", in the US. But they are Personna blades. So, just look for "3 facet, PTFE-coated stainless steel GEMĀ® blades", and you'll be fine. If you come across Dorco blades, run for your life.
