Double Edge Slant Bar Razor Recommendations
I am looking for a new DE Slant Bar razor. I currently have a Merkur 37c that is my favorite. It gives me a good shave and there is really no reason to replace it other than I have had if for some time and would like to try something new. My preference would be to give a three piece slant a try.
Sooo .. What do you gents recommend?

Thanked: 3225The only other slant I own is the Fine Superlight Slant just because it is made of plastic. Works as good as the Merkur 37c which is very good.

I have been collecting slant (twisted head) razors for years. I have more than I can count, and the best one, after the Merkur, is the Razorrock Wunderbar. Highest recommendation on that one, if you like an aggressive razor.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanks .. a quick look around and I could not find a Razorrock Wunderbar for sale. Happen to know a place?
What do you think of Above the Tie Slants? I was thinking of getting the Colossus in an open comb slant.

There is one on the bay right now, I don't know the seller.
Razorock Wunderbar Slant Stainless Steel Razor | eBay
Italian Barber is the store vendor and they are out of stock right now, but he gets them in from time to time.

Keep an eye on the shaving forums, they come up from time to time, or post a WTB. Some guy just had one on the bay at $120 buy it now and accepted a best offer

As the proud owner of a RazoRock Wunderbar, sent to me from one of the fine members of this community with a breadth and depth of everything shaving, from straights, to hones, to DE/SE blades, I can tell you it is a superb shaver, fantastic in hand, great angles, and provides a really nice, very close shave, I used to think the Mongoose SE was superb, but this one is spectacular.
If you're going slant, just get the best one and be done with it....and that's the Wunderbar IMO.
By the way, not to blow too much smoke up that fine members pant leg, he does somewhat lack in his depth and breadth of knowledge when it comes to soaps and creams...but I've tried to help him that way.....

When I was using DE's I never had any luck with the slants. I had 3 of them but they just didn't agree with me. Most likely was just me and my abilities but...
I did have an Above the Tie set. Not the slants, and it was one of the best made DE's I ever had. It's just Sharpening, right?
