    Default Edwin Jagger 3one6

I’ve had this razor a few weeks now and thought I’d share my findings.

    General info:

-Made completely in Sheffield from 316 stainless steel.
    -CNC machined handle.
-Metal injection moulding (MIM) head. MIM is a manufacturing process that involves combining pure metal powders with binding materials making injection and manipulation easier to control. This is then injected into unique Edwin Jagger tooling using extreme pressure and then heat to create the small and complex precision components. MIM permits very fine manufacturing tolerances and minimises any weakness due to the directional flow of injected material.
    -Overall razor length: 96.6mm (3.8")
    -Handle length: 89.4mm (3.5")
    -Handle diameter: 11.85mm (0.5")
    -Razor head length: 41.4mm (1.6")
    -Razor head width: 25.4mm (1")
    -Weight: 85.2g (3oz)

This is EJs flagship model, it’s extremely well made and sold within the mid price range. The weight of the razor and balance feels good in the hand and the handle is nice and grippy. It comes with Feather blades and I find these to work ideally. Not too mild, not too aggressive, just a nice smooth shave.
I like the fact it’s manufactured in the UK with Sheffield steel, as much as I like Sheffield straights because of the heritage.

All in all a great razor that I’m happy to have.

I read about this one. Would you know the blade gap and blade exposure measurements on it?
I also read the handle is glued together, not a solid one-piece design. do you have any comments on this? EJ had been around a while.

My understanding is the handle has an aluminum "cover" over it. I imagine that its glued or affixed somehow. I don't know about the cnc though. Injection moulding is actually a cheaper process than machining.

Can't comment on blade exposure and gap but the model I have has a solid SS handle. The coloured handles have the anodised aluminium.

Mark I've also got the 3one6 in the knurled stainless and I've got to say it's one of the best razors I've had the pleasure of shaving with. I quite enjoy it paired with a Derby extra blade, smooth like butter.

Yeah I really enjoy it for a change of scenery. I will have to try a Derby Extra as I've only tried with a Feather DE.

Im finding the Derby Extra to be a solid blade. No friles, not great keenness, nothing special but a good working class blade.
as Ive just started to try one. Bob likes them so I had to give it a go. I have so many other named blades that every time someone says something about a blade, I can normally find it in my stash of blades. At least thats the way its been for a few months now.

Ive got so many DE.razors.I hate to buy another. But I may be looking to buy a few pucks of MDC soon.

I personally hold Edwin Jagger responsible for the rabbit hole I fell in 10 years ago.
One of these has popped up lightly used and very cheap. Not buying it... Maybe..
