I shave about the same asTathra11. Disassemble and dry after each use
My preferred blade is Gillette Nacet (Russian)If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

You should always remove the blade and let it air dry in between shaves. Stainless can rust you know.
Try Personna Hospital Blades, they are very good.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 0Tathra11, You're not OCD. You just like to take care of your tools. I do the same thing.

Thanked: 3225My daily shaver is a Lupo 95 OC which some might consider to be on the aggressive side for a DE. I face lather, do a 4-pass daily shave using cold water with no real prep and change the blade every 7 days. So far, I have used 95 out of a 100 pack of Derby Extra blades. Post shave, I just rinse the DE under a tap and put it away to dry. No problems so far and I don't anticipate any in the future.
Everyone is different and has to find what works for them by experimenting. There is more to a shave besides the blade in use.

Im finding the Wisamet blade is working well in most of my DE razors. But as said, its up to what you like most. I dry my razor and remove my blade to dry.
Now if Im traveling I will toss a couple Feather blades in my bag and toss them after the second shave. Sharp, and i know how to use them. But only good for two full shaves.
This year I have been working though my DEs or I should say still working through my DEs. It may be another 4 or 5 months before Im happy and go on to SE.It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 14Lots of blades, lots of favorites. For modern blades you can't top a Feather on this old mug .. but the best by far are the vintage blades such as Schick Plus Platinums. Sharp as anything new, but last far longer (some opine that's why they are no longer made). I pick them up when I can, have a drawer full of them in both DE and Injector formats. The question is time .. whether I can manage to outlast the supply, or will just keep pinching them when I see them floating in the Bay at a reasonable price.
The legendary Personna 74's are perhaps superior, but their price has been driven beyond the pale

Not many pics in this thread so I thought I'd toss one in. Here are a few of the DE blades I've been testing over this year...

I like how you have those blades in organised trays Jerry. Mine are all piled together in one untidy box.

I'm a neat freak.
Everything I own is organized.
From my 6ft by 6ft toolbox in the garage to my nuts and bolts drawers to my Razor collection. Luckily the wife is the same way. If I needed the paper work on the printer we bough 5 years ago it would take me more time to walk to the file cabinet then it would to find it in the file cabinet. LOL.
Its a sickness that drives some folks crazy. It's just Sharpening, right?
