I bought a big pack of Derby's for my wife's lady gillette. They were cheaper than the Walmart personna blades, even with shipping. I got em from Amazon

    Hi Alex,
Awwwwww, you're a sweet man to get your significant other involved in your 'hobby'. You already have two good sources from other members posts. I might also include Welcome To Connaught Shaving
I've never bought from them, but I heard good things about the service. The prices are pretty darn good, and he carries MWF in the nice bowl. Also, I believe he's based in the UK.
Of the three sites, I'd probably go with the sampler West Coast offers, called the 'Choice', and costs $13.75. There's a good assortment of sharp blades mixed with milder ones, and all those blades have a strong following. I'd also suggest ordering a pack of Iridium Super blades along with whatever you end up with. Sharp, but forgiving, with many good reviews about em.
    Hope that helps,
    Martin

Oh.......if you order a sampler with Dorco blades, make sure you'll be getting the platinum 301, and not the regular 300 model. Yes, there IS a difference from what I've read.

And last time I looked, Walgreen's (at some sites anyway) carried two house brands, Walgreen's Stainless Steel and ... the other kind. Of course I've forgotten the name. Platinum Chrome, perhaps? Very good blades, I found. I noticed they are marked "Made in USA"--which may well mean, alas, that they are being phased out.

I find that very funny coming from a straight shaver! I started with DEs but mostly use a straight now and you have nothing to worry about. Dial it down to 1 or 2 and see how that goes. It's very mild at that setting. I find that 5 or 6 on mine gives about the closeness feel of a straight. The slim is a great razor and one of the best Gillette made. $4 is a great buy as good condition usually go for $25+

Hopefully, your experience will be different, but I'd pick ebay over this guy, and I don't like ebay.

    Hi Rich,
Thanks for jogging my memory about the Walgreens 'house' blades. Some stores will carry the ones that say 'Made in Israel' on the back. It's a little sticker that's been applied, and these are supposed to be the same as the IP (Israeli Personna), which has a very good reputation. Oy, who knew?
