I just checked the Classic site. They have edited the Cobra description to indicate that it only fits the Professional blades. In fairness, it would be pretty hard to fit all three Feather blades. They are all slightly different dimensions. Of course you can always take a Dremel to it like I did

Ah, the Cobra Classic. I have had it now since last year (2012 that is, just to put things into perspective in a thread last active in '09...)
Aside my straights, the Cobra is the only other razor I am using. I still have an open comb DE somewhere and a heapload of blades but they haven't seen any use since maybe last Nov. or Dec.
But I digress.
I had also read of varying comments about the earlier Cobra Classic razors but have experienced only the good ones myself. Mine arrived to me at the end of an interesting international tour, so had seen some use but it showed no defect. Good workmanship, I love the solid feel and mostly the looks (yes, the shaving is what counts but that it does extraordinarily well). I am a sucker for 'warm' metal tones such as Brass and Nickel and the Cobra positively glows in Nickel.
I haven't bothered playing around with other blades, I was used to the Feather PRofessionals from the Artist Club and I like them. Also no need to say much about them, I think everyone knows theya re sharp.
Here a few picks of mine:

Thanked: 0I want to buy one of these but they seem to be out of stock everywhere. Does anyone know what the wait times are?
Thanks,
David

Watch this and other shaving forums. As soon as stock comes in, somebody posts a notice, but you have to act quickly. I finally got one and, for me, it is the best shaving system out there. But I would not recommend it to a novice. It is a straight on a T handle and much sharper than a real straight. Great shaves though.
The tale is doon, and God save al the rowte!

Thanked: 0The only UK retailer for these had one which had been reserved and then cancelled. I was the lucky person to get in first and now have my Cobra.
Great shave even with a three-times used Feather ProGuard blade taken from my Artist Club SS.
This may well become my favourite razor!

So after reading the threads I signed up on the waiting list at Classic Shaving.
Bingo Bango Bongo not two weeks go by and I get my notice, promptly order and the always fantastic Classic Shaving delivers.
Background: Wet shaving for 2 years, Straight Razor for most of that with both conventional and Feather AC/SS variants.
+1 to mattloffm's comments - this would not be a good idea as your first non cart razor...
On the other hand if you have some DE time up to Slants and/or the more aggressive razors or can get through a Straight Razor shave and be proud of your work...this thing is worth a try.
The most striking thing for me was the sound...
You don't feel the whiskers falling, but the sound is like a piece of paper being slowly torn.
And that patch on your throat/neck the size of your thumbprint that resists all but your most concerted efforts? (you know what I talking about...)
It will submit...Support Movember!

Thanked: 4942This is the least favorite of all my razors. Mine feels like a dead weight with movable parts.
Have fun.
