About a week ago I used my DE and was surprised how many more strokes it took to shave my whole face. It felt like it took forever!! So if you have the technique down, it's completely possible to shave faster with a straight. But +1 on the lazy bum, I have that problem too sometimes...

I thought hail maries would be a chalange as I'm not Catholic...
but now I´m hearing about Noveenas and Glorie Be's...
Maybe I'll just confess... and sleep in the garage for a couple of nights....

Thanked: 1The gods of the straight razor may be angry but the DE gods be smilen. I have a Futur and LOVE it. Playing with the straights but the Futur is my go to razor for the BBS shaves. For me its the gold standard of comfort and closeness, its what I measure the straights to, there coming close but not there yet.

They'll probably want an Act of Contrition, too. If your girl goes ballistic over it, then throw in a prayer to St. Rita, the patroness of impossible causes. Or maybe St. Jude.
May God have mercy on your soul.

Well she didnt find out I had a new razor.... yet..
The last week I only shaved with the Futur (3 times) just because I was pretty busy and a DE is pretty easy if your in a hurry.. She did see me shave with it but she didnt notice I was shaving with a new razor.
So I think all my prayers where heard by the gods and my sins where absolved.
The shaves where pretty good BTW..

I'm still living life in sin....
Since the baby was born in May I've only shaved with a straight twice..Just cant find the time to hone the razors..
At least I do enjoy the shaves with the DE(the futur works pretty good for me) and the shaves I use the straight are pretty good.
Maybe in a couple of weeks I will be back to the straight.

Would 20 hail . . .
Gentlemen,
The Rasiermesser Rasur video Bart posted scares me to death. I have seen it before. I eventually stopped, because my gentle heart could not stand the attack from that frightening video.
Oy, just the thought of attacking my Hollywood face as that man does his raises the hair on the back of my neck.
Oh, by the way, I use a double edge when time is short — a gorgeous Edwin Jagger "barley" or a mock Ivory. To me, rushing my straight razor shave is a lot like rushing my meal or gulping down my good wine. In my San Francisco days a thousand years ago, I didn't even rush the nectar contained within the $1.50 jug of Red Mountain either. Some things are sacred. That includes a proper gentleman's shave with a lovely straight edge razor.
Regards,
Obie
