Trade duck for DE?
What type of DE would be a fair trade for the goldedge in my album? I dont know how to pull the pic from my album so you'll have to look. Thank you in advance for your time.

This is only one opinion, but I would think a very nice "Fatboy" adjustable or maybe a "TV" model superspeed.

mmm, none.
You can have a very decent DE for under 25$.
Keep the duck, buy an old Gillette.

Weird, I tought I posted an answer... but it doesn't show.
IMHO, no DE could approach that DD in value. Some people sell old NOS Gillettes for a lot of money, but I don't think it worth it.
If you want to try a DE, get an old Gillette. You can have them from 10$. New Merkurs and Goodfellas are around 50$.
Maybe this type of fancy handled DE might approach your DD, but I would keep the duck.

You might be better of selling That Duck, than buying a DE.It might come out better. It looks like a nice Duck. But fair Trade?I would think it would have to be a mint DE.Maybe a Fatboy or a Super adjustable.

Let me know what you want and I'll let you know if I have it!

that really would depend on what type of DE you would like. for instance i would trade you a merkur vision simple because that is the only DE i have not given away... i used it 10-20 times and it has sat in the drawer ever since.
Be just and fear not.

Although I have a fairly decent collection of DEs, I can't imagine any one of them being worth enough to trade for that Goldedge.
From a collector's standpoint I guess you could see if anyone has a 195 or a pristine Toggle, but even those pale in comparison to a nice straight.
Still, if you'd accept a Fatboy, a Slim, a Tech and a few other miscellaneous DEs in trade I'm happy to oblige.

Thank you for the responses. The reason I posted this is that I want to broaden my shave experience. I think the best way is with the best tools. I've learned from this forum that ducks were excellent But I didn't realize the respect to value that it carries till now. again I thank you all.Back on point. I got a few shaves with a red tip and thinking of getting a adjustible like an aristocrat, toggle, or vision. Something along those lines might be better for my skin.Let me say this "I will never stop straight razor shaving". I just want a broader overall experience in shaving. The nicer tools ive listed tend to get a bit pricey. This is why I kicked around the idea but after reading I think I might be screwing myself over if I try to setup a straight across trade. Thanks again for the reality check
