Acne and shaving
I have been shaving for a while, and i got my style down, very close shave, normally rash free. But today i shave, first time i 2 weeks. and i had a lot of pain when i applied after shave, then i relized that i had pain were i had acne, and i realized that i had quite a lot, so if you a 18 year old, make sure you don't have a lot of acne when you straight shave

Generally shaving with a straight will assist in reducing acne with use. I have had some trouble lately with some heat rash, but in general I find that the only time I have acne is when I don't shave for a length of time.

I'm also 18, wet shaving has really cleared up my face. A tip make sure you wash you face with soap actually designed for it not bar soap before you shave. Then after you shave use witch hazel, I also use it one a day even if I dont shave that day, it'll help cut down on oil and helps kill bacteria. Good luck
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

First time in two weeks.
One thing that folk forget is that the skin
adapts a bit to shaving. Anytime you change
your routine take your time and be kind to
your face.
One interesting point is that after a week the
need to lather first for cleaning then rinse and
lather again for shaving is a good practice.
Remind yourself that a light touch is important.
A two week growth looks like it needs a weed-whacker
but the skin under the thatch it will not enjoy being whacked.
Now to encourage healing... we are all different
so witch hazel, Nivea, air all work for the other
guy. Local rashes and infection, like any, should be
managed with care. A bit of a triple antibiotic ointment
may be in order. Irritants should be minimized... for
some alcohol and fragrance are a no no. That mineral oil
we often recommend to protect steel of razors can
also protect skin after the insult of a harsh shave. It
is a common ingredient in many product.
Always read the labels....
For some acne is a persistent infection and requires
attention by a doctor. A short term razor rash
need not develop into acne with good sanitary
habits in the shave den. Use a fresh clean towel
each day. Rinse well. Use a minimum number of
quality products. Read package labels and keep tabs
on what works for you. Do not share kit
in the shave den.

Thanked: 1195A good astringent and/or alum block is a good defense against acne. Also, cut down on any oily preshave products such as hair conditioner and preshave oils.
One other thing, are you sure it's acne or could it be razor bumps?

Thanked: 8Hydrogen Peroxide, witch hazel and tea tree oil all work well on acne. I wish I had known that in my teen years.

Thanked: 15When I start shaving long time ago wit acne an old man told what to do and free they give it to me free I give to you. Just shave down strocks action. If you have to pass more than once strocks then do it but 2 passes is more than ok. Face preparation with very hot water with a clouth for more than 3 minutes. Castle forbes as a pre shave and when finish skin food either santa maria novella or Trumper sandalwood is ok. But just down strocks.
