New Feather AS-D1!!
Just got my new Feather all stainless in the mail! It was beautifully packaged, and came with some blades. What angle should i shave with it? I feel like i did not get as good of a shave then i could have. thanks! BTW BIG DIFFERENCE compared to my 61 super speed.

You need to use a different angle with the feather to get the best result. I found I needed a steeper angle. Pared with feather blades and you be a DE shavin fool.

Gentlemen,
The Feather all stainless steel is about as sweet as a double edge razor can get. It is a mild razor, but paired with Feather or Super Iridium blades, it becomes just a most comfortable shave for me. The Feather has the right weight and the textured handle is long enough to give the razor close to a perfect balance. You will need to play with the angle in various parts of the face for optimal performance. I love my Feather and hope to shave with it into the next century — if the Lord is willing and the creek don't rise.

I had to play with the angle to get used to the feather. I figured out the angle was steeper for the feather than on my gillette. I would suggest that you use the feather blades I sent with the razor. You should not get niced with the feather blades. Once you get used to the angle for the feather you should be able to get a very fast bbs shave. Just to let you know it took me about 4 shaves to get used to the angle and the weight of the feather razor.
By the way, I read in another post, that your only other DE razor is your Gillette superspeed. The SuperSpeed is a great razor, however, from what I remember about my superspeed, is that the angle is closer to 30 degrees. The angle for the feather, is closer to 45 degrees.Last edited by methos; 11-17-2011 at 03:57 PM.

I had 2, I traded him one of them. I am sorry but they are extremely hard to find since Feather is only making a limited amount at any given time. You have to be at the websites at the right time to get them. I just found one if you are interested go to this website

Thanked: 1Whilst I think it is a lovely looking razor, I can't help think it's a lot of money for what is a very mild shaver. I know people have had good results when paired with a feather blade but at that price????????

The feather all stainless steel razor is mild in feeling...however it is effective. I have had a bbs shave in very little time with all types of blades, not just feather blades. After using it for a few months, I agree that it's worth the price. It takes out the concept of mild and aggressiveness. It brings in the concept of effectiveness with a very nice feeling. The mild feeling is because the blade does not vibrate like in most razors. This makes the razor feel mild. This is also true for the Pils all stainless steel DE razors. In my opinion, one cannot understand the concept until they try the razor.
I would pay the price of the feather, just like if dubl duck makes new razors with the same quality as their old razors, I would pay $200 for one of the razors.

I've never held the Feather much less shaved with one. So I have no opinion of how it shaves one way or the other. However what appeals to me first and foremost is its apparent high quality workmanship. The depth and uniformity of the checkering on the handle is a sign of the precision that has gone into the manufacturer of this razor. Like others have asked, is it worth the price? It is to me, I intend to get one in the future.
