I know and I admit that I have been lazy the last few weeks.

I am just too dedicated to the weight loss program I started. I am down 26 pounds in four weeks!!! I was never a "fat" person, but I got a little flabby and I needed to get back to college form. Next up will be the conditioning and strength training. Ready or not six pack muscles here I come!

As usual I get caught up in other projects before giving the results for ones I wrap up.

The nickel plating is factory finish spec. It looks amazing! Pictures do no do justice compared to having it in hand. I could not have asked for anything better.

    Plating was done by
    B.A.R. Plating
    Meriden, CT

The owner (family friend) said that he is willing to do other plating for anybody that is interested. I could not find any other place that would even care to consider doing the job. I had one place laugh at me and use some profanity when hanging up on me...So I am very grateful for B.A.R. doing this for me - and the others that I am prepping.

So let me show you all some pictures:

These are the parts after I got them back:

Here is the razor put back together and fully functional - I used black enamal for the numbering and dots :

Next up is finish pinning about six straight razors. I made the scales and the wedges or spacers, but I havent pinned them yet.

In terms of this Fatboy, I will be making a custon box to house it. I have the original plastic case, but its in bad condition. I plan on taking the plastic try insert out of the original case & placing into the new box once built. I am going to build the box with some burl - maybe Amboyna if I can find a large & affordable piece to work with.

Default Gillette Fatboy Cleaning - Plating Project

    Damn that looks nice!

I just gave my FB another go today (last attempt wasn't impressive on a 4), now I'm quite pleased at setting 7. Came on here looking for ways to maintain/clean it on a regular basis. Now I'm wanting to get it re-plated lol

I'll have to look up your friend and see what he would it would run me.

    Thanks!

Here's a box that I made if you want some inspiration ( http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...azor-case.html ) maybe about 2¢ worth in material.

That is an awesome box. I could only hope I turn out something similar.
