Nice find, looks just like my favourite shaving weapon. It'll polish up nicely too. I'm sure there was a de-gunking trick along the lines of "line a pan with tinfoil, fill the pan with water, put the razor in and boil away for 5-10 minutes". One good trick is to brush the razor with non-gel toothpaste and an old/unused toothbrush.

Yes, as everyone has noted, that's the Gillette Flare Tip from the late fifties or the early sixties. These are good shavers, and on the mild side. Like everything else Gillette made in the early days, they are well built, and will last forever. Good find.
