NecroPost!!!!!!
Well today I dropped my iPhone into my girlfriends mug of tea. It fell off the bed and right into the tea cup. Fried my phone... Truly sad and then I kept trying to hone this blade but it wasn't getting sharp no matter what I was doing. Which brings me to the following...
After much frustration trying to get a blade honed in the recent week, tonight I'm going to use my MD shavette. I've been trying for days to get this razor honed with crappy to acceptable shaves each night. My arms are sore today so I'm going to be lazy and go with a razor I know will shave me well and compared to lately the results will be better too.

I have used my Bluebeards Revenge several times now and I am quite pleased. I also have a Parker SR1 and I find I prefer the Bluebeards Revenge...it just has a better feel in my hand. Better balance. I use 1/2 a Derby blade and this morning I decided to cork the blade to take away some of the edge and it did seem to make a difference. Shave felt smoother. Now, take that with a grain of salt, because I am an inexperienced SR shaver. I am, however, trying desperately to learn so I can add SR shaving to my shaving routine...at least a couple of times a week.

You'll get the hang of it. I started out with Derbys but switched to Personna awhile back. Derbys were just too rough. Maybe I should try them again, now where my touch is lighter. When I used the Derbys I probably just applied to much force on the Shavette. A light touch is the secret!
