Nice looking setup you have there. I had a good shavette shave last night with my IBC shavette. Need to get a Feather in the future. I hear they are excellent shavers.

Excellent and unforgiving. Got to be 100% careful 100% of the time. Very different from a straight.

Thanked: 4I'm very close to just becoming a full-time Feather shaver. I haven't found anything that gives me as close of a shave with as little irritation. Even my sheffield, straight off a professional honing, doesn't Measure up.

Man, I tell you what, yes honing and stropping are tough, but skip the honing and send it to a pro. You'll learn stropping in no time, the honing is a huge time suck. I can do it, have done it many times and I've brought many old razors back to shave sharp condition, but if I could have paid someone all along I would have. The problem is, when I started wet shaving, there weren't as many options as there are now. I have a guy here in San Diego that hones my razors for 1 dollar each. Yes that's all....and boy are they sharp. If anyone wants his info I will pass it along.

Normally use (and maintain) conventional Straights but when I'm "on location" on a project or one of those checked bag vacations my razor of choice is a Feather DX Folding and the Kai PINK blade.
And you will ignore pressure, angle and skin tension at your peril...
But if you stay focused it is an amazing system.
The longer you use these the longer the blades seem to last.
And it is handy that your razor and up to a years worth of blades (YMMV) takes up as much room as a toothbrush and a pack of gum..Support Movember!
