I have three similar shavettes from aliexpress. They are all good enough to use. Two are regular Feather long blade types, both patterned after the SS with the little ridge at the edge, and the other was same general pattern and styling but was a straight DX type except that it takes half DE blades. It has the most potential aggression of nearly any shavette I have ever used and I really have to concentrate to not cut myself with that one. Of course I also only use Feather DE blades in my DE type shavettes, and a milder blade would of course reduce the cut hazard. Anyway, think how shady fleabay is. Multiply that 3x and that is how shady aliexpress is. Sometimes you get a really good product for chimp change. Sometimes you get a really crappy product for chimp change. Sometimes it is kinda fun to roll the dice and see what you win a month or two later.

Is it the same overall experience as having a genuine Feather AC? Probably not quite, even at best. There is definitely a certain pride of ownership in having the acknowledged best and most prestigious brand. But some guys take a lot of pride in getting the same thing for 1/5 the price. I personally don't care what kind of metal my shavette is made from as long as it doesn't corrode and doesn't bend or crack in normal use.

Personally I think an SS clone makes an excellent travel razor. No stropping, and little lost if it gets stolen or broken in your checked baggage.

Jsut remember on aliexpress, it's very much you pays yer money, you takes yer chances.

That’s funny, “chimp change” I think I’m going to use that if you don’t mind? There are some decent knockoff disposable razors so if that’s what your budget allows then that’s fine if it holds up and you use a decent blade.

I have a feather RG that I bought early on, it’s a real shaver and like has been said it’s a no brainer. It stays in my dopp bag for travel and when I ride my scooter it don’t take up as much room as a traditional kit. If you can afford it you will notice a big difference in quality though

I am sure that there is a difference. I'm just not one who would ever truly appreciate that difference enough to pay the premium for the real thing, I shave with a shavette maybe once a month, at the most. And TBH I don't like paying for the long shavette blades. I bought 100 Feather DE blades several years ago and I think I still have a lifetime supply left, so my shavette shaves are mostly using half DE blades. I bought one pack of the pro-line blades just to check out the cheap AC knockoffs, TBH and I doubt I will ever buy them again. Maybe once a month I have a shave with my E-type Schick Injector just cause it's kind of cool and I still have blades for it, and about as often I will dust off one of my two gold plated Gillette TTO adjustables. Most of my shaves are either with a GD or with a vintage Bismarck or a Dovo Bismarck. If I was a serious shavette shaver I am sure I would own at least one genuine Feather AC, probably a DX. It's not like they wear out or anything.

I actually used to say "chump change" but once a spel chekker corrected it for me and I sort of liked it better that way. Feel free to use it. It's not my intellectual property. Spel chekker's idea.
