Thread: 7 day Weck Sextoblade set

The gem blades won't fit the weck. They are for the de style single edge razors that were made by the company gem

I just got a Weck. I am at work right now so i am not sure if it is a Sextoblade or one of the other but same principle. I ordered some Personna single blade razors for it. Originally it belonged to my wife's great uncle. It still had a 3 Weck blade in it that was pretty oxidized. The personna blades were the only ones I found recommended for it so I got them. I wasn't sure what else would work. I figured technically any single blade razor would fit but I don't know if I need a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 inch blade. I think these are 2 1/2. I would think the main thing was having the folded over part on the butt of the blade so that there would be enough tension. Double sided blades or utility type blades would most likely just fall out.

I hope I am thinking right on that.

It's hard to tell if those are the right ones or not. Personna makes both types of single edge blades. There are two types. The ones you want are longer and narrower than the regular single edge blades.

Yeah, it is like since Weck pretty much stopped selling to the public in the 60s or something the internet is pretty sparse with information. I tried looking up the specific model name but haven't even seen a picture that resembles this thing. None of the razor blades look like the one that was in it, but the ones I got sound about right. It was said in the comments and the questions and answers area that they work in a Weck of some sort and the picture of the one that was recommended looked similar to mine but with a guard.

Worst case it may not be as narrow which won't be the end of the world. It should hold it pretty tightly.

Pretty much any hair shaper blade that will fit the Fromm hair shaper will fit a weck sextoblade, medical prep razor or full size weck hair shaper. Weck did make a mini hair shaper that took a smaller length.

Yeah it fit perfectly. I liked the feel of it but I cut myself all kinds of up with it. Mainly not taking enough time with it. I am going to try again. Probably tonight. I am in need of a shave again and since that one gave me the most trouble I figure I should try again until I don't get nicks. Then I can kind of rotate a bit.

I will try stroping it too since I would be much less concerned about messing up that blade and the technique should be similar.
