Steve's a true gentleman to deal with. I have one of his custom made paddle strops and it's a thing of beauty. The craftsmanship is second to none.
I bought my first straight from him too so I knew what shave ready was really like.
ninjaplease, it could be the difference in grind too. There is a difference between a full hollow and 1/2 hollow. I have examples of both and it depends on the day which grind I prefer, that's the beauty of this pursuit.
If you're comfortable using a hone, a couple of light passes on a Naniwa 12k couldn't hurt. You could follow up with 5 or so laps on a CROX pasted paddle if you have one.Last edited by jodypress; 07-31-2013 at 10:48 AM.

I've got a couple of those Spartacus Festooned razors with the worked spine. Bought a nice one in Silver Steel second hand, and another brand new from Steve at the Invisible Edge with the new TI steel. Either one, like any TI I've had, will cut HHT, shave slick, smooth and clean. I cannot say why it is not shaving as well as the Aust. Steve is certainly an expert honer and the one I got from him was/is fine. Perhaps your TI could use a little TLC. Since you have the 12k, and you are considering sending the razor out anyhow, touch it up and see if you can improve it yourself.
