Default 2nd Shave with a Straight Razor

Ok guys so I just completed my second shave with a straight razor. I did allot better this time with my WTG pass still not ready to do XTG or ATG but it's getting smoother. One mistake I made and quickly learned from. I got too confident and tried going to fast and guess what? Pretty good slice, I also wasn't holding my skin taut when that happened, but I'll slow down next time, all in all it was a good shave. I finished with my Grandfather's 1948 Gillette fat handle tech.

There is always a solution, whether it's already present or if you have to make it.

Been there, done that. I don't think it was carelessness as much as inexperience. It's part of the learning curve. In time all of your shaves will be automatic, but you are at the stage where you have to think about what you're doing. When you think too much you distract yourself. Unfortunately while learning, you have no choice but to concentrate on what you're doing. It's tough and I probably cut myself as much as anyone while learning.

Ouch! I'm going to hope that isn't a "flap" of skin! Super Glue works wonders on deep cuts though!

Sure is, I've got that area calmed down now, but it's going to take some time to heal. Like you said nothing some super glue and a beer can't fix.

Regardless of whether you use a DE or a straight, be sure to 'shave around' the wound for awhile. Otherwise, it won't heal, you'll just keep opening it up, it will also make for a more noticeable scar.

As to whether or not 'chicks dig scars' I wouldn't know as I've never asked a woman her opinion on the subject!
