That's interesting that you mention this!
I thought it was just my imagination, but when I started with straights, I found that 12-18 hours later, my shave was still very much intact (although I never noticed it).
Recently, I had to go back to the Mach / Fusion for about 10 days, and while immediately after the shave, it felt very smooth, within hours I could feel stubble again. Now that I'm back on my straights, the shaves are so much better, and just like you mentioned, I noticed that the shave lasted much longer!
Thanks for that!

Well actually it was thebigspender who asked the question - I merely ran with my answer . I mean, most of us don't work 12 hour days so short of it bugging our loved ones... who cares. But with out a doubt, my straight shaves last longer than de's or carts. No question.
It's not your imagination. I note it too and so do more than a few guys here. Why? I'll never know. But as they say, it is what it is, and going to bed cleaner is always nice lol!!David

Comparing a DE to an SR shave is much like comparing BMW to Mercedes Benz. Both make superb cars that in the hands of an experienced driver perform almost equally well. Yet these cars are very different. I can get the same quality shave from either my DE's or my SR's. However, when pressed to make an ultimate choice, I must confess that some of the closest, most comfortable, and longest lasting BBS shaves were realized with my SR's. IMHO, all things being equal the low, variable cutting angle of the SR is its single biggest advantage over the DE or any other razor. The biggest advantage of the DE is speed and more flexible stroke directions.
