Thanked: 247I think it's amusing that Ramen is widely accepted in U.S. cultures as the cheapest food source, and in some Asian cultures it is highly respected and carefully/methodically crafted with secret recipes by esteemed chefs.
As to the topic at hand. I have used exclusively (except for test shaves) the custom I commissioned several months back. It is the most refined (to my preferences) razor I have ever seen. I have enough experience now to know what I like, and this combination of features is seemingly not available anywhere else. Given that I pass on the rest of my collection (that I like very much) and select this razor every time (except for a handful of times), I have to conclude that this would be the one

Thanked: 13Gotta agree that it would be hard if not impossible to part with my Japanese razors. But I've also got an ivory handled Asprey that's heart breakingly beautiful and just as rare that I don't think I could ever sell.
And those gun metal razors are fantastic.

I really like my SRP Robert Williams custom razor. A work of beauty.

I'd have to say my Henckels Friodur 8/8 Spanish point, all my razors are great, but this one is smooth as a Jaguar.

My go to Razor was for the longest time would have been one of my Hart Steels but now it is my Tim Zowada 2H2H I got one of the prototypes and it blows everything else out of the water as soon as he has healed up from his accident he will finish my Custom and I'm sure it will Be #1 I have other customs that shave great but I look forward to the day in my rotation that it's my 2H2H turn.

I have a few that I consider 'special' - including my first ever vintage blade (a Bengall with some nice etching), a Weiss & Son in original pressed tortoiseshell, and my first ever new Dovo Special. But none of these have come close to this Wade & Butcher wedge, purchased from a fellow SRP member recently. Not only is it stunning to look at, but it's a big blade, in original pressed horn scales, and gives the smoothest straight shave I have ever experienced.

I'd have to say without a doubt, the one I'd been looking at for awhile, which began my obsession with Wade and Butchers, I call it, The Zombie Slayer, my 9/8 Celebrated, Hollow Ground, For Barbers Use, spike point. The Walking Dead flee at the sight of it.....
