I'm with you on this one...if you are paying attention this shouldn't happen. I often clink the spine side on either the porcelain or the faucet, but never the edge. The only 'ding' on my edge was from dropping the razor off the counter (not paying attention). I've not been doing this that long and I'm sure I will eventually catch the edge--habit may then change or more than likely just curse myself while I'm honing out the damage.
