Thread: Two Pass Daily or Three Pass Every Other Day or Something Else?

Everyone is different and has to accomodate what their skin will comfortably tolerate. I do a 4 pass shave evry morning, WTG, XTG ear to chin, XTG chin to ear and ATG. If I have done the honing right on the blade used there is virtually no irritation.

I suspect our fathers and grandfathers just did 1 pass and got on with the day.

During the week I perform a 2 pass shave with a few touch up strokes with water as needed. WTG and XTG on cheeks and mouth area, N to S and then S to N with a bit of a scything action on neck (grain runs sideway on, kinda a bugger).

On Saturday I will do a full 3 pass shave and touch up. Usually don't shave on Sunday as it gives my faces a chance to rest.

Play with your routine a bit, see how it goes. Nothing wrong with changing it up.

3 passes every other day generally, first wtg, 2nd atg, and third is more of a touch up in certain areas.

Dad hand lathered once with Palmolive. He shaved eith a DE and touched up with water.

I shave according to time available.

I thought it was mandatory for uni students to basically never turn up

Me too, but I also thought it was mandatory for students not to shave. I guess I'm way ahead of everyone.

Actually, I'm doing an internship and if I don't turn up, they'll notice. Fortunately, my supervisor chooses to spend most of his mornings parked on the highway among a billion other cars with their engines running.

I usually shave every other day, two passes, one North/South, then one XTG face/Hybrid ATG/XTG neck.

On a date night or other special occasions I do three passes.

I generally shave every 2-3 days and I'll do a three pass (1-WTG, 2-XTG in opposite directions and some ATG touch ups). I very rarely do a full ATG pass, I find it's not necessary after refining my process over the years.

Now everyday, that's another issue. My skin's far too sensitive for daily shaving but once in a blue moon I can get away with consecutive days if I knock it down to a 1-1/2 pass shave. The results aren't up to my usual standards but it's acceptable and better yet my skin isn't red and raw from over-doing it.
