Thanked: 4206My reply was actually aimed at Chasmo's comments on the first page about his shaving kit. I meant it as kudo's for pride for tings worthy of being proud of.
I'm bad for not reading all the pages in a thread before I reply. ;-)
If we are posting pics of peddle bikes, I have an all steel boat anchor Raleigh that has 3 gears of fun I should post pics of. Nothing to be proud of on that rig, cept the way cool banana seat.

Thanked: 24
Thanks Mike,
I suppose I should participate in posting a shave of the day picture once in a while. However, I get up at five every work morning and piddle around so much that I make myself have to rush to get to work. So I'd never get there if I stopped to snap a photo of my morning's shave choice. Then another cup of coffee, hit the strop a few more strokes, stop to check out some project's progress, you know guy stuff. Gosh, it truly is by the Grace of God to have been born a man child. Is there anybody else out there like that or am I out here all by my self? Come on fellas, chime in, cowboy up.
Chasmo

I am not sure what my father did. He was using a DE by the time I came along but as for me I usually do a 4 pass shave daily with very light pressure. 2 WTG and 2 ATG. My neck hair grows sideways/diagonal so the last two passes on my neck are sort of an XTG/ATG. Anyways, this usually results in BBS and if it don't I am good to go anyway since it's really close. On weekends I will do the 2 WTG and 2 ATG with a touch up using clear water and no skin stretching. I usually get some irritation chasing the BBS like this but I have fun on the weekend.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

Whilst using my DE's, I found a "2.5 pass" does me. Basically, it's a WTG/XTG pass, then ATG after relathering. I can survive the XTG without a relather if the blade's sharp enough. And I've caught myself doing this a couple of times with my straights.

I shave every day
1 pass wtg - my entire face
1 pass across on my cheeks and jaw and another wtg for my neck
2 atg for my neck - i seem to need that extra pass to get things bbs
depending on the soap I use, and the lightness of my passes, I dont usually have irritation.

I currently share one bathroom with 4 other guys so shaving time is limited, so I am getting pretty good with a 2 pass shave (WTG, ATG) every other day or so, seems to work out for me pretty good
