I've been giving the 5/8 blades another try lately and some work and some don't. I used a 5/8 henckel with a barbers notch and small thin scales and it was pretty difficult. the blade was very sharp it was just that the hole thing is just to light. the extra force with something that light just wasn't comfortable. It seems that 6/8 and up with an average size scales seems to work best for me.

Thanked: 270I don't remember if I chimed in on this subject or not. A lot of experienced shavers prefer the larger blades. As an inexperienced shaver that was really having trouble wielding the blade, the larger razors got more whiskers. Now as an experienced shaver who has finally tamed the blade, I prefer the 5/8 razors. I like the light, agile qualities it gives me.
