Thanked: 4826It is a great video. It shows some really good skin stretching. However the guy is crazy fast. I think I watched it three times before I got half of what he was doing.

Thanked: 171It helps to review reliable information on straight shaving and a lot of Lynn's information is also available on the Internet. Hence I consider Lynn's DVD is useful, but not essential.
On the Internet you also find a wealth of other, poor and irrelevant information and it is up to you to sort it out.
Pick whatever works for you, but it is advisable to educate oneself before the first straight shave.

I'll add this ,, I did his video before I started. If you are willing and not stubborn , and follow it step by step , you will have much better success at this ,, it really was a good process , especially doing one section at a time till you get the feel for it , saves a lot of razor burn and cuts,, so get it and watch it and re watch it ,, but like John said , skip the honing part till later ,, need to learn how to shave with a shave ready razor first. Then hone away. Stropping is more important at this time , so watch that part real close ,, I have sent my video out too . Tom ,, it's a great tool. Tc

Lynn's video is excellent to help introduce you to the world of straight razors. This one helped me develop my shaving technique. ' Straight Razor Shave 3 Pass - YouTube

I've watched it and it covers the whole caboodle... And it's not helpfull to know how to tighten pins or how to hone a razor if you're starting out. Don't get me wrong, it's a great way to learn all the other aspects of the sport which you really do need to know like stropping, lathering and allround razor handling. Enjoy the tape, don't worry to much about the nitty gritty of razor restoration, just get the hang of shaving comfortably first
