How often do you shave?
Good morning fellow shavers,
How frequently do you shave? I myself shave every morning. I do not have to shave. Work does not require that I shave. I do not shave for social acceptance. Before beginning my straight razor and double edge journey I would skip shaving on Friday through Sunday and also September through mid January.
I now shave everyday because I enjoy shaving. I do not need to some days as the previous morning's shave is still rather acceptable. I shave now partly for my two young daughters and beautiful wife. They deserve smooth. Mostly though it is for my own enjoyment, relaxation, and experimentation. I rotate razors, soaps, brushes, strops, and scuttles.
So do you shave every day? Every other day? When you feel like it or need to shave?"The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas." -Linus Pauling

When I first started straight shaving I was instantly addicted so I shaved every day. Five years later I find myself shaving every other day, probably has something to do with better technique equals better results.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Thanked: 55Every second day due to sensitive skin, however have the feeling that as my straight skills improve, it may be every day as I do really enjoy it. Previous to DEs and straights had a beard of some sort for the last ten years, full growth for a month, then trim into some sort of shape for next month, then remove and start again.

I shave everyday during the week except Friday. I wait until Sunday morning to shave next. For me there is nothing better than taking off a few days growth.

When I want or need to, due to me having a job that does not require me to be clean shaven, with working overtime and starting at 6am I dont always have the time.
When I have finished a few more razors I intend to give myself more time and end up shaving most days

Thanked: 3225Have shaved everyday for as long as I can remember so it is an ingrained habit by now. Big difference is that I enjoy it more now with a straight razor, a variety of soaps and brushes.

Thanked: 16I shave pretty much every day. There are times when I take a day or two off. But those days are rare.

Thanked: 37In the old cartridge days I shaved every other day because I hated shaving and paying for cartridges. That is as long as I could get away with and still be acceptable for work. Now that I straight shave I don't need to shave more often than every other day if I do a two pass shave or I might shave more often.

I shaved daily for years, then I began an every other day .... or so .... routine. Now I might go days without shaving. I'm currently getting over a cold which has had me down for a week and I'm growing a beard ! Oh how the mighty have fallen !
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Every second day, unless a special occasion (work or social) prompts me to shave on the "off" day.
