I'd need someone to teach me how to do that.

The problem with the Art Of Shaving stores is that their employees don't know how to shave so they cannot properly advise their customers and have no idea what shave ready means.

For refreshing with a barber hone, you just do 4-6 light round trip strokes. Just about any shaving video will demonstrate a basic x stroke, which is all you'll need to do to maintain your razor after it is oroperly honed.

There are a lot of folks in the NC area that can assist. Send me a PM if you have any questions. I'm in the Raleigh area, but there are folks all over the state.
From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

Honing your razor and giving tips. We just had a meet up this past Sat. We get together and talk about straights and other topics.

Factory razors have as much chance of being optimally shave ready as a factory Toyota has the chance to be blue printed & balanced before delivery.

That's why I like Straight Razor Designs and the classifieds here at SRP. You know if they say 'shave ready' they mean it!

I have purchased three razors, two from SRD, and one from the classifieds here, and all three came perfectly honed. I also notice that the members offering razors for sale in the classifieds all have 100% positive feedback. It's hard to beat 100%. (except for politicians)

Yeah if there is someone that is a lot closer to me that I can send my straight to be honed that would be better than having to wait for all the turn around time.
