Thread: Chasing the shave

This morning I had the best shave of my life. I feel I will be chasing this perfect and unobtainable shave for the rest of my life. I have reached the peak of my life gentlemen. From here on it will only be second best...

I guess congrats. Know the feeling. I'm a bit out of practice with the straight due to time constraints and outright laziness I've been relying mostly on my DE. Started picking back up the straight though. Something about it.

Try to remember that the experience of shaving with a straight razor along with the shave is what makes this Art so special that you really find it pleasurable and something to look forward too. I'm betting a lot more perfect shaves are in store for you.

you have got to have lots more shaves under your belt to have the best youll ever get , if it truly can be done . after 1 1/2 years of shaving daily I still get better shaves than I thought I could get ,I still find different angles and skin strechting methods to make them even better or having better edges on my razors or better stropping , its a deep rabbit hole, hang in there a while longer , and see how much better it gets!!!!! good luck tc

Don't give up. There will be other days in front of the mirror that leave you with the same sense of perfection accomplished.

Been there done that, still doing it, still happy

I know what you are saying and sometime down the road that bar will be reset again. It happens over and over, we achieve shave nirvana and think we will never be back, but we are, over and over again, just not every time, but always close!

That's the beauty of straight razor shaving...It just keeps getting better and better and the results are addictive!

Well Done: I see you joined SRP in Feb of 2015. Now it's time to purchase more razors. A 1/4, 1/2. and extra hollow grind STR8 razors to become a master in your field.
