Took one day off and my face was itching. I got back on the saddle this morning. Feels good. I have had several blood letting while learning. This one was just weird because it never hurt. I could feel the blade under my skin, just no pain. I was careful shaving around it this morning but didn't hurt at all. I was expecting it to be uncomfortable but the smoothness was a pleasant surprise.
Thank you all for the well wishes.

Nah, 30+ years of marriage has taught me to just deal with uncomfortable things.

The sharper the blade is, the cleaner the cut, and the less pain you feel. A clean slice also heals faster. Neosporin and superglue are your friends.

every razor has bitten someone, somewhere, usually when the person loses concentration and the razor doesn't

I think that concentration is one of the attractions of this pursuit. In our high speed world we need counterbalances. There is even a danger of turning play into work.

God, were holding, for a lack of better description, a surgical scalpel to your face.
And by all means, TAKE YOUR TIME.
But we all know this. I've got my scares as well. Live and learn.
And I'd be willing to bet serious $$$ that NO surgeon has EVER been told to "Hurry UP!!"
As a true noob, just starting SR and using it as more of a "finishing tool"....I could not agree MORE....that...
There's NO SUCH THING and a SR "rush job"!!!!
    At least....NOT without some consequences......!!

It doesn't scare me at all. Just the opposite as a matter of fact. I was feeling like Superman when the kryptonite came up and said hello.
I really don't get into perfect shaves or anything like that. Crap, very rarely do I even use an aftershave. I make two WTG passes and that will get me through to the next shave.
I am just an "old school" type person. I was probably born 120 too late. I use all different types of tech, but enjoy doing things the old fashion way. Just my upbringing I guess.

I would take that bet and probably win. They are under pressure to get done quickly; the longer things are, the more chance for disaster.

Always remember that there are only two types of shavers. those that are nicked and those that are going to be nicked. It doesn't matter if it's a DE or Straight.

Or cartridge for that fact. I don't think an electric can cut you off it tried. Unless you catch one of the ingrown hair bumps that it creates.
