I agree with OldSalt. I love my creams and since that brush is sitting there loaded up after my first pass, seems a shame to waste it. May try the water only just for the hell of it. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it!

I have done this ever since two of the older members talked about it. It works very well. I find that ice cold water will stand up the hairs better. YMMV

Thanked: 481This is about where I'm at. Generally I'll do one pass with soap, then if there are areas I'm unsatisfied with I'll splash on some water and clean it up. I find it more efficient than re-shaving areas that don't need a second pass. Most days I'm just looking for a 'good enough' shave. On days when I want a really close shave, or want to spend extra time enjoying the process I'll do a second pass with full lather.

Thanked: 8I will do this on occasion. A WTG water pass (with whatever residual soap left on my face from the prior pass) is nearly as close of a shave for me WTG as a traditional ATG pass but with less irritation.
The only caveat I have is that you need to be mindful of pressure and not to go back over the same spot again.

I do my finishing pass with olive oil only. Like to see the insurgent whiskers. I lock the target on them and attack with the squared pointed MK 1. Everyone shall perish.

Thanked: 5I have done this on my neck, as the skin is not as sensitive there. I keep a full beard and only shave my neck and clean up the cheeks, and occasionally will clear the mustache. I could probably do a water only second pass on the cheeks as well. I wouldn't dare try this above the lip though. I have enough irritation with my soaps and oils. I don't think that one would go over well.

Thanked: 3Worked great this morning, it was smooth enough I think I could do a whole shave if I keep hydrating but I think I'll keep it to touch ups only.
