This is actually the smartest way to learn when a razor is needing a hone touchup.
And, IMHO, the smartest way to start straight razor shaving.
You will learn what a fresh razor feels like compared to a dull razor.
Then when you start honing your own you will know when to do touchup.
People that just buy one razor to get started are really behind the curve, IMHO.
But, finances do play a factor.It's a dog eat dog world and I have on milk bone underwear.
