Default Shave Secret in your lather?

Has anyone used Shave Secret in their lather or placed it in the bowl and lathered it up? Do the suds break down the oils and essentially make it useless or does it thin and lubricate?

The secret is so secret that it is hidden in NORAD deep within the Colorado Rockies.

Looks like it is a replacement for your regular lather.

What?? Where have you been brother? Oh yeah, in your bathroom shaving

It is sold at Walmart and there are threads on SRP about it. It works really good but I have never mixed it with lather.

OP--give it a shot and let us know how it works.

I have it and have also used it although not anymore. How I used it was I first prepped my face with a warm washcloth. I then placed several drops 5-6 on my hands and spread it on my wet face. Then made my lather and spread that on my face over the Shave Secret and shaved. I did like the clove smell of the oil. In saying all that, I do not do this anymore. Did it make the shave better? Not sure. Why did I stop using it? Well, spreading it on my face with my fingers made my fingers and hands very slippery with the oil. I then had to wash my hands with soap to get all the oil off of my fingers so I would not drop my straight razor. It became too time consuming and I felt that it did not justify using it anymore. Relegated to the bottom of the drawer.

Seems to me just a mix of essential oils. Probably adds some "extragreaseness" (I don't know how to call this in english, it's "sobreengraxante" in portuguese) and some scent. It contains vit. E and A (probably natural consequence of using some peanut/almond oil in its fórmula) that can be useful as antioxidants and moisturizer agents. Maybe some glycerol. If you don't mind about the smell, olive oil would probably be as good as this.
I shave with plain olive oil sometimes, when the air humidity falls below 10℅ here, making awful lathering (it dries and flakes on face while shaving). I like to shave with olive oil, the only hard part is to keep the razor hand clean and washing the basin with soap afterwards.
