Everyone wants to get in on the act. So, they take a point and do a minor mod and it's a "new" point and since calling it say a Uganda Point wouldn't mean much or draw attention the just say American point and folks say wow.

Personally I will remain politically neutral and use terms like round, oblique and square point with the occasional use of pretentious terms like dreadnaught.
