Thanked: 4828I find I get a better shave on my neck if I go against the grain on my first pass. Of course the blade has to be right too.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I get my neck bbs every time. No question. If you figure it out, you'll nail it every time.

Thanked: 481Actually if you shop around and buy in bulk you can get the batteries cheaper. I got a packet of 20 batteries for like $4.00, 20 cent a battery. But then the problem is, I really don't think these were meant to last all that long in the first place. I feel like the battery contacts will be broken before I get the chance to put a third set of batteries in there. We shall see.

Thanked: 1Mind you this was only my second shave with the SE but I cannot figure out the diagonal stroke at all. There is always some that doesn't get close.
Being Manly is important, how else will boys learn how to be a man?

For me the hair under my jaw grows side ways, so I can never get it bbs. Wtg and atg feels like I'm trying to cut my throat. So I do xtg and call it good enough. I found the only way I can get it perfect is if I bust out a de.

My neck hair grows across from ear to ear so WTG & ATG is tough. I get 90% of it but always finish with a curved, scythe stroke over the patches that aren't as good - and they are always the same spot. The scythe gets them for me. But, it sounds as though you may be reasonably new at this? If so, give it some time. It really does take months of daily shaving to get to a point of DFS (damn fine smooth) with little to no irritation. The old rule of thumbs bandied around here is 100 shaves, and for me I was near 70 before I could get a close shave without lasting irritation. Keep at it and you'll work out what works for you.
