Thanked: 5Pampering Women & Making $$$
Women love to be pampered. I'd bet that were a woman to open a salon catering to women and offering straight razor shaving as an alternative to waxing, she'd do very well.
My girlfriend loves smooth and healthy skin. She's tried electrolysis, on her upper lip, I believe. She did not like the sting of zapping hair. She does not like pain of waxing. Hence, she's good with shaving. However, I'd bet that were a woman to straight razor shave her leaving her more smooth than her Fusion, she's be hooked. My thought is that when she gets her hair cut, if her coiffeur (sp?) were to straight razor shave her legs and armpits, she'd be hooked.
Women, in a general sense, are more calm; hence, they'd be perfect for straight razor shaving women.
I'm always looking at ways to make $$$. There's huge $$$ in pampering women.

Seriously doubt it,, and not having shaved yourself, how would you know? If we bring back the women's corner you can bring it up, but as you may have noticed the women's corner ain't here anymore.
Take a poll on the street, I,m sure you,ll find most women couldn't care less about this mostly mans hobby. Heck even a poll amongst men will have the majority who don't want to either. Good luck with the venture though. Tc“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

The guy's got skills for sure but I am sorry but no matter how skilled you are, you cannot put that blade near my eyes!
It is amazing what women will put themselves through in the pursuit of beauty, but I am not sure that this is high profile enough for them to get invested in it.
If you do go for it I wish you all the best, but as TC says good market research is a must here.Fact: Opinions are not the same as facts... Well, that's my opinion anyway

Thanked: 5I hate being retired. I've retired to young. I want to open a man's lounge, a place where men can get a haircut, shave, smoke cigars, watch TV sports, BS, drink beer (depending upon state and local laws), talk men talk, and buy cigars and men's accessories such as shaving stuff. I'm thinking of hiring women to cut hair and shave men, but I'm not sure. I don't want to ruin the theme of a men's lounge.
I talked to my girlfriend last night. She said that she would do a color, cut, pedicure, manicure, and shave at the same time. There could be money in such a salon.
She's good with men cutting her hair. She is not good with men (except me) pampering her.

Thanked: 5Shaving is supposed to be healthy for women's faces. It's excellent exfoliant. It doesn't not stimulate hair growth. And it keeps their youthful appearance.

While there may be money to be made, if you get a bunch of guys together smoking and drinking and carrying on while talking men talk, what do you think will happen if you have female employees working there? Hope you have a good legal counsel standing by. You may need it in the world of today. I wish you much luck into this business. You'll need it!

Thanked: 5Not necessarily. A restaurant is not responsible for a customer who makes an inappropriate comment to a waitress. It would be if it allowed such comments or didn't warn its customer of inappropriate comments.
I've been in especially sports bars where men have made inappropriate comments to waitresses. Unless the comments are really offensive, waitresses almost always blow them off as men being men. They haven't seemed to be offended. If they're not offended, there's no harassment violation.
Many sports bars waitresses wear revealing clothes in order to get big tips and attract men to their places of employment. Waitresses depend upon tips. However, their uniforms do not justify offensive comments. I was in a bar where a drunk dude reached up a waitress's skirt and grabbed her butt. He was 86'd, but she did not allege harassment. She figured it was business cost. She knew that her revealing outfit brought her big tips.
I'm on the fence about hiring women if they would disrupt the concept of a men's lounge. But then again, EEOC might force me to hire women. EEOC forced the Catholic Church to not discriminate against gay priests. Even the most obtuse could have predicted the outcome of hiring gay priests and giving them access to young boys. The point is EEOC has taken entrepreneur discretion out of business owners hands, mandating how business must operate. I believe that the marketplace should determine how businesses operate.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with a business that caters to only men. Women's spas cater to only women. I don't think that women's spas allow men, which would be obvious since women are often not dressed while they're being pampered.
