I started 3-4 months ago at the age of 40. Haven't touched my DE for the last 2 months. I could have started in my late teens but my neighborhood barber, whom I knew since the age of 7 in Greece, refused to teach my how to shave with a straight because he was worried I would butcher myself. His little barber shop looked like the one Mastro Livi shoots the shaving videos. Just one chair. Mr. Thrasos passed away few years ago, he was in his eighties. I wish I could see him this summer when we go to Greece and chat about shaving and straights.

Nearly 50yrs ago. Grandpa used straights and taught me. Tried the newer razors over the years and found the shaves slower and not as satisfying.
