Humans fear what they dont understand. Its a fact skydiving in my opinion is a verry safe sport. 800+ skydives with not so much as a sprained ankle. Water skiing thats dangerouse! There was a time every man shaved with a strait, people werent cutting throats and falling over dead by the dozens. I have converted both friends i have taken the time to introduce to wet shaveing, a little education went a long way for me.

Skydiving is in the category of a lot of other fun sports that some call "extreme" and that is that it's a safe sport but very unforgiving. Most anything that is fun is in that category.

I never saw shaving with a straight as scary though. I did get that you need to be careful.

I think I initially nicked myself more with a DE than I have with a straight.

I on the other hand never have cut myself with a DE and cannot understand how anyone can cut themself with a safety razor unless they were to slide the razor sideways.

If you do it coming directly from shaving with cartridges you do it by using too much pressure as you are able (almost required) to do with cartridges.
