Yes, every shave. I use a straight on the neck. No mirrors, just feel and touch.
A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.

Thanked: 38Once a month, between my monthly haircut. Only the mirror in front of me. You're right, an excellent finish to a fine shave.

Growing up mother always cut my hair with a straight razor. Cleaning up the back of my neck with it naturally followed. So when I started shaving with a straight, once a month including the back of my neck just seemed the thing to do!

Thanked: 292For over 40 years, my hair was either cut by my mother and later by my wife using a guarded straight razor/hair shaper. The razor cut is still my preferred hair cutting method. Neither of them trimmed the back of my neck, so I did that in the shower using a pivoting cartridge razor. I shaved entirely by feel.
My mother is long dead and my wife has arthritic fingers, so I finally started going to a barber for a hair cut. He uses scissors and an electric trimmer every three weeks. He shaves my neck, but it needs it again three days later. So I still use the cartridge razor in the shower, even though I shave with either a straight razor or DE after my shower.

I shave three times a week at the most and always shave the back of my neck.
Usually I shave my neck before I shave my face, as my hair is thinner than my stubble, thus giving the lather a few extra minutes to soften up my stubble.
As the Germans say: 'Wenn schon, denn schon!'

Yes I do but whit no mirror and no lather, I just used warm water on the back of my neck before I shave and I only made 1 pass. After I get done I check in the mirror if it’s all ok.

My oldest daughter has been a licensed cosmetologist for well over 20 years. She now owns and operates her own shop and has done so for many years.
For years and years I've told her that if I ever got to a point in my life that I didn't have to work for someone else ever again--I'd never get another hair cut.
She would look at me with sad puppy dog eyes and say; "Great Dad, just great".
Well I retired on January the 2nd 2015 and haven't had an actual 'Haircut' since; but she'll call and have me come to her shop so she can cut my neck hairs. As of late she now also says that I 'Need' to have split ends cut-------------While I'll go along with it I think she's actually trying to keep the hair from growing longer.
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.
