If you're looking at Ebay, and the seller says "shave ready", look for customer reviews that confirm that the seller actually provides shave ready razors.

I also started with a new Dovo by the way. And the "Best Quality" razors are actually very decent. I have tried many razors that were worse since (and just a few that were better, but it's also a matter of taste).

One thing I learned the hard way is that (to me at least) a fabric strop is not optional. The edge will hold up much much better if you use a fabric strop before the leather.
