BBS daily or not?

I still have to do two passes with some cleanup to get a nice shave. I have achived close to BBS numerous times but I am still working toward the perfect shave. If you read any of my past posts you probably think I would never have made it this far. I am finding that while I do some cleanup with a DE most of the time, the shave with a straight before hand is much better than with a cartridge or a DE alone. It just takes time.

What can I say - when I was a teen we thought it's cool not to shave regularly, and the girls liked it. I hated shaving anyway My wife actually loves me with stubble...

But since I switched to straights I love shaving. Go figure

But I could not see how the quote you used, namely:

relates to what I was saying - that girls liked me with stubble, and my wife still does

about your wife liking the stubble... I was joking from the simple film. How we supposedly 'percieve' that they like the stubble, though they hate it.

I go for the BBS shave every time, only because I don't shave with the straight every day. I find my most enjoyable shaves are when I've got at least a couple of days worth of growth. When I shave daily with the straight, the stubble is too short and it feels a lot more like scraping than hair cutting, you know? I like it so much more when the razor is actually slicing through the slightly longer hairs.

And yeah, I'm obsessive about the BBS shave when I'm after it. I've got a good technique with the straight razor these days, having been at the hobby for a couple of years now, so I'm really quick with the shaves. But I'm feeling around my face for every trace of stubble and shaving every which way to nab all the hairs. Heh. Fun, though.

ah glad to be able to clear this: I was proudly making her feel my BBS shave once and she told me she likes me more with stubble. Not the 1-2 day coarse stuff but after this, when it softens a bit with length. I also showed her the website and she was terrified

The girls can grow beards, for all I care about them - but I get mad that society's trying to tell men that they aren't good enough as they come (well, OK, I'd agree to a shower routine ) I WILL shave with pleasure when I feel like it, and it may be to please my partner - once in a while. But if she tries to demand this as a condition ("In your dreams, stubbleboy") - that's where I draw the line. No Scruff, men HAVING to shave for um getting intimate with their ladies - what a load of bs.

Totally agree Ivo. I was just playing with you. but back on topic, I actually don't shave daily either. I could if I wanted to but most of my shaves are in the evening as I could not get up in time for work and have my shave with my later nights...

This might change in the fall with school going on, but I still stand by giving a nice shave if I want to go out and try to pick up the ladies.

Well, those days are long gone, for me, but my wife's skin is so sensitive it abraids if I'm within 3"-4" with any stubble whatsoever. And I hate to abraid her!
