Thanked: 9Pilot - that may work but gives them the upper hand: it shows that you care and are trying The ladies - even if they don't all get excited by careless bad boys (as some people would claim), they are certainly attracted to confidence and independence. Nothing says that like sporting nice stubble. Then they come after you. You don't want them to know that you're trying hard, because this by default makes it even harder for you. And then even if you get lucky - they try to whip you around - just because they know they can
And, after all, a kiss without stubble is like an egg without salt (OK, this quote was for a 'stache, but still...)
Cheers

Thanked: 9Sorry - didn't intend to lecture you on picking up ladies...
I think the quote is either French or British. Where I come from - old people used to say about young boys "His stubble hasn't ripped a single virgin's cheek"
Enjoy the trip, Guinness and all
Cheers

I shave daily but don't go for BBS every day. I do one WTG and one XTG pass every day. This gets me very very close but not BBS I shave in the evening and only have "five-o-clock shadow" the next day after five. When I want BBS I add a back XTG pass and some ATG buffing where needed.
My usual goal is to be able to use Alcohol bassed aftershave or alum everyday without any burn. When I only go for BBS a couple times a week I have no burn so I am satisfied.

I also shave daily during the week and skip one day on the weekends to let my face recover. When I started wet-shaving, both with a DE and a straight I tried to get BBS every single time, and like some have mentioned my face was smooth but raw. That didn't seem right. So now I go for close and comfortable every time; except on a night when I shave before bed, then I will do 3 passes and go for BBS - A. because it's a treat and B. because I have the time not to turn my face into hamburger.
2 passes is my normal routine (WTG & ATG/XTG) which leaves my cheeks BBS and my neck smooth.
YMMV.

Thanked: 1587I do BBS daily - 2 passes: WTG with lather; ATG with warm water only. Works for me now, but didn't when I first started. A combination of razors not being sharp enough and skin adjusting to the new type of shave, I think.

I do one WTG pass each shave and usually manage to end up with some parts (like my cheeks) BBS and others a little rougher. I can live with that.

I usually shave every 2 or 3 days. My skin is too sensitive to shave every day.
I try to go for BBS every time, but I don't obsess about it.
I will sometimes go over a spot again after the first 2 passes, but after that I quit because otherwise my skin starts to hurt.
First and foremost I want a comfortable shave.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

It's called the "biker" syndrome (I made that up!). Back in the sixties I noticed the best looking women hanging with these scruffy, dirty looking bikers. I couldn't figure that one out, but it still applies today. When Leonard Nemoy(sp?) was filming Star Trek, when he played Spock, they couldn't keep women out of the studio. He had that Devil (evil) look. - women are attracted to that look. Probably the eyebrows and the ears.
Anyway, some women are attracted to that "bad boy" look.

When I first started wet shaving, I did a single WTG pass. This would
get me pretty close, and definitely presentable. I'm doing a WTG/XTG
daily now -- I don't usually skip days because I will have noticeable
stubble.
