Happy surprise
So I finally got myself a shavette to try, just a cheapo one off the internet for kicks. Its been sitting in the drawer for a few weeks now and today I decided to give it a try. Next to it I say my Red Russian that I hadnt used in quite a while, I had this vague idea that it needed refreshing. I thought what the heck ill bring it along as well. Did a HHT on it and passed with flying colors so I stropped it and gave it a try. Got an a great shave without any tugging or weepers (aside from reopening a nick I had done the day before) So now I am thinking I need to recheck all my straights that I thought needed refreshing and sort out my shave ready from non shave ready. My razor storage is almost complete so itll be a great time to organize things better than they are now..
As to the shavette, well I guess Ill try it another day

The only reason I really wanted one aside from RAD is because when a bit pressed for time the shavette would be faster than a regular straight. Usual routine is remove the oil with kleenex, stop blade (possibly with pasted stop first), shave, dry blade (use Kleenex to get inside scales), stop blade, put away strop(s), oil blade, put away straight.

Yep! Too many steps. Grab razor, Strop, shave, strop, put away. What's all this oily stuff.
If you would like to try the feather Alan I'd send it to you for a test spin. But keep in mind that after you try it you might really want to buy one then.Last edited by Gasman; 03-25-2020 at 02:17 AM.
