I think one reason the straight shave lasts longer is that it swipes away the top layer of skin which grows back with the whiskers so there appears to be no change for a few hours.

Hey, I resemble that last remark!

Once I went straight, I've always been straight. No footsies in the bathroom with a Bic for me.

However, I do like the idea of keeping a combat knife razor sharp, as a spare, just in case.

I through out all my cartridges when I 1st started shaving with a str8. I didn't even want to give them to anybody. I'd quit shaving altogether before ever going back to a cartridge. It's sacrilidge!
