Thanked: 1Joined this forum 12 years ago. Here is my first straight razor shave video!
So thanks to the kind people on this forum, I was able to step foot into straight razor shaving and I haven't looked back since 12 years ago. With the world the way it is now, I thought it would be fun to make a video of me shaving with a straight razor after I let my beard grow during quarantine. At the time my beard is a little over 2 months old. It was fun making this video, so I might keep going on and make more vids of me shaving and going out and getting shaved at local barbershops. Let me know what you guys think. I just started this channel, so a like and subscribe would mean the world to me. Thanks again to everyone at SRP!!

Aloha!
Nice video and a good beard as well. I wish my beard looked that good. I have to shave to keep clean because my beard is splotchy and, well, 'Un-Handsome".
Is that a Feather Artist Club razor you used? If so, which blade? I have an Artist Club and use the Proguard blades to keep nicks and cuts to a minimum.
Mahalo!
EDIT:
OOPS! Scratch that. Just watched it again. Missed the ProGuard INJECTOR the first time I watched it. Sorry. Question answered by your video.Last edited by ZipZop; 10-15-2020 at 05:46 PM.

Thanked: 1Thanks for compliments on the beard. My mom says I look like Japanese soldier hiding in the jungle that thinks the war is still going on. lol. The Pro Guards are awesome. I've saved myself from getting slashed so many times by that blade.

Aloha! That's a funny comment by your mother. Well, compared to my beard growth attempts, yours looked amazing. I gave up on trying to grow a beard 15 years ago. I can do a mustach, but not a beard. So I stay clean shaven.
Yes, those ProGuard blades are AMAZING! Such a simple design when you see them under a scope, but that design WORKS. If I had discovered these blades with an Artist Club razor when I first started shaving (they did not exist back then), I do not think I would have gone with a genuine straight razor. But no biggie. I have about 20 straight razors and I'm glad I do. But it's just so easy to put in a ProGuard blade and get an amazing shave with no finishing stone (barber hone) nor stropping required. If I use a regular Shavette, I nick and cut myself like crazy. With the ProGuard? Nothing. Just like a straight razor. SMOOTH and COMFORTABLE.
I think your shaving video is the ONLY shaving video I have ever watched without any voice-over comments by the man shaving. And it's nice that way. Well done indeed!

Gave you a like and a subscribe. Good job and good luck with your channel. Is that beard trimmed or just as it grows? If that's how it grows naturally then you're lucky. Mine grows down to my collarbones and up to my eyelids. Even growing a beard I still have to shave unless I want to look like a caveman.

Thanked: 3225Lets see if I got this right. You joined the forum 12 years ago and your first contribution to this forum was today. Bottom line is you did a video and would like a thanks and a subscription to your channel. Heck of a first contribution imo.

Thanked: 1Thank you so much for the like and sub. It means a lot for a first video. This is just how my beard grows with no maintenance. I'm considered very hairy for an asian guy, but you sound like you become Cousin It when you let things go lol.
