It's been a loooong time but I clearly remember the chin being the last problem area for me (I've had a full mustache for more years than I can remember). As I came to it I stumbled and tore my chin up and after weeks and weeks one day I just went straight down and around like a pro. What did I do differently? Search me. I think I lacked the confidence to just "do it" and hesitated and feared the maneuver but one day it just happened and from then on I never looked back.

If I did two passes, I probably wouldn’t have to shave again for a couple of days. I love the straight razor shave. No one outside this forum really cares, hence this post.
    Whatever works for you…

For me, “a fairly close shave” with a straight is no longer acceptable, but admittedly it took me some time to get there.

Course I still look like i survived a car wreck so maybe both hands hasn't helped

Maybe I should go back to the goat n stash, just stick to high gradin
In the days before safety razors pictures seem to show less men entirely clean shaven. Most seem to have had a mustache at least. Perhaps your experiencing why that was the case.
