    Default My morning accident!

Last night I decided to sharpen up a new razor I bought recently for this mornings shave. It is a Case #133 Red Imp that really looked like it had only been honed once. I am a true novice at getting an edge on a razor but I thought this one was sharp enough to shave with so I gave it a try this morning. Guess what? It shaved great! I was so proud of myself I lathered up again for a second pass, decided to run it across the strop a couple of times--- and DROPPED it! Took big chunks out of the blade!! What a dope! This might have been only the second time in 50 years this razor was used and I shattered it. I don't know if it is worth repairing or not. Anyway, I had to publicly humiliate myself for razor abuse. Hmmmm? Silver lining? I will have to buy a replacement!! I feel a little better already.

Too bad it wasn't a "Dorko," since there would have been great irony there...

Shattered with big chunks, my sympathies. No it's not going to be repairable. Good news, you must do penance and acquire at least one if not two razors to make up for this transgression.

Well look at the upside and there are 2 of them:
    1. You didnt drop it on your toe and lose a digit
    2. You get a new blade or 3

OUCH you just hurt my heart...
I have only dropped one razor (knocking on wood as I type this) a DD Dwarf bad news it broke the DD scales... good news the blade was unscathed.... We have all done it and I served my penance and bought another Dwarf immediately

If you really loved that razor you would've grabbed it. At
least stitches would have fixed you, but you can't fix
that razor . My heart goes out to you, but as you
said you can always buy a new one, although I don't need
an excuse to buy more, I just keep doing it. RAD!

Those Red Imps 133 are might fine shaving machines. Extremely hard steel, sorry for your loss.... this is the second sad story of the day.

We need to have a sticky where we mourn the passing away of good healthy razors by dorkicide
