Is It Just Me?
I've been using oly a straigth now for about a month. When I'm done and my face dries, it steel feels like a porcupine, no matter how closely I think I've shaved. After about two hours, it seems the many protruding whiskers have receeded and then it is as smooth as, well you know. Is this typical?

me too
This morning was the first time that has happened to me since I started shaving with a straight a few weeks ago. Today is also the first day I used proper cream and a brush - I never experienced this with the aerosol gel + hot water + fingers method. I thought, "oh well, I guess today's shave is not so close" and then I got to work and started touching my face (as I always do when nobody is around) and realized I got a closer shave than I usually do

Thanked: 335Or Baby Butt Stubble, which is what I get. I never realized until I started with the straight razor shaving how rough those cute little cheeks are.

If we're going to give it a name, I favor DBB -- Delayed Baby But. Thanks for the feedback, guys.

Proper use of a brush and good products will lift the hairs, I have experienced this phenomenon on occasion, and really can't explain it. I have however applied a little warm water, and removed this remaining "pop up stubble", and gotten a shave that lasted darn near 2 days.

Thanked: 15When you aplly water to hair it expands. It is therefore reasonable to assume that as it dries it shrinks. Voila, as the French would say.
