Thanked: 2Bug Out Shaving Set Up
So, I've been wet shaving for a long time, and shaving with a straight for six / eight weeks now. I'm thinking about setting up my bug out bag with a straight razor kit.
This is as far as my thinking has taken me so far:
- The razor should be stainless?
- The razor should be a wedge, so it is less likely to chip.
- The Strop should be small, perhaps one of Tony's manmade material ones.
- Shaving stick, GOOD!
All thoughts, suggestions or contradictions are welcome.

Thanked: 124A bug-out bag is a small bag full of bare essentials that you keep by the door in case you have to "bug out," say, because of a natural disaster, or because your job calls you away on 10 minutes notice.

Cool idea, I don't know if you have to limit yourself to a wedge. That's a lot of honing once you get past that edge. How about a half hollow?
Firearms for the purpose. That will go over well here.

Thats almost exactly the contents of my deployment kit. I do carry two straights though. Never know if you'll have time to be exacting or even have to shave commando...

Do stainless wedges even exist?
I'm not an expert, but I've never seen one.

Thanked: 2Excellent comments.
Two razors, very good idea. Maybe I'll even splurge on a matched set.
Half hollows also a very good idea.
And a small bottle of AS. I don't generally suffer from much razor burn, so maybe an Alum block will work for the same purpose here. As well as work as a deodorant.
Thank You Gentlemen.

A Wapi, with its stainless steel scales might be a good choice too.
I use the steel case they give you with a high end Dovo, those are great. A rubber band or ladies hair tie works great for keeping the razor closed. A strop should be mounted on a hard surface, like wood. A barber hone would be nice for extended work.
I use my set up for travel and don't bother with soap. I just use whats in the hotel room. Don't need a brush either. But for a bug out bag I'd take both.
The few times that I have bugged-out I've always wished I'd taken more stuff. Suddenly you actually have time to play with all the cool toys.
Natuallly, I would avoid creams with glass containers.
